About Our Council

Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy Council was founded in 1997 through the efforts of parishioners Dick O'Brien, Anthony Farrell, Richard Hassell and others. It is named after Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy, who was archbishop of the Seattle Archdiocese 1991 to 1997. The Thomas J. Murphy Council works closely with St. Cecilia's Parish on Bainbridge Island, raising funds for student scholarships, youth activities and other charitable causes. Working with our pastor, Fr. MARK KISZELEWSKI, the Knights support the mission of St. Cecilia's Parish as well as upholding the tradition of the Knights of Columbus to promote mutual support of Catholic men, support seminarians, donate to charities and strengthen the culture of life.
